Most months we will have a special service of Healing & Prayer, normally the first Sunday of the month, though again keep an eye out on the church diary. Our Healing & Prayer service is open to anyone who wishes to come along and unburden themselves in a safe and reflective space. This is normally led by our Lay minister, and we listen to what God is saying to us all.
We are blessed by having such incredible links with the local uniformed organisations, like our very own 93rd Girl Guides and also increasingly with the with local Scout groups. To this end we ensure they too feel at home at St B’s, often having special services with them (The GG are extremely confident at leading services, having had so much practice lately!) - check our calendar.
As we reach out into the community one of our main stay services which attracts people far and wide is our Family Fun service, generally once a quarter, but often in line with the various Christian festivals. Here parents and children alike are welcomed, and encouraged to engage with crafts that highlight the Christian theme.
We finish the service with re-enacting parts of the Bible, lively songs, prayers. Finally, all are treated to various treats such as pizza, cake/ice-cream and drinks.
Do watch out for more of the alternative services, like Pet services, Christingles, Lightfair and our puppet friends that often appear to help us tell the stories of Jesus. As you’ll see we stand by the statement ‘encouraging the people of the parish to worship God’
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
