Baptisms (Christenings, thanks giving services)

If you are thinking about any of the above services for yourself or for your child, let us be part of that journey. At St Benedict’s we can carry out the Baptism service in either one, of our services (10am traditional & 4pm Family service) or as a standalone service (generally between 1:30pm and 3pm, though don’t worry the service lasts roughly 35/40 minutes as a standalone service). We as a church family, believe this is one of the most magnificent occasions in a Christians journey and like to celebrate it together with those family’s that either live in the parish or have a link to the church via a regular member of St Benedict’s. The service is often very interactive, with plenty of opportunities for all to get involved not just the God parents! And if you are concerned about singing some of your old school hymns don’t be, there are some much more upbeat and lively songs to sing, if you want at all? Just get in touch with your vicar, Rev Griff via the contact page info, it’ll be great to hear from you and don’t worry if you are only enquiring and are not sure, he is more than happy to talk through the whole experience.

‘Griff, we just wanted to say again thank you for leading the Baptism service for…, the whole family enjoyed your approach and how you kept the younger ones engaged throughout the whole  service, St Benedict’s church, is a wonderful place and we look forward to seeing you again at the next Family Fun service.’

Weddings

In the Bible one of Jesus’s first miracles was at a wedding. He turned water into wine. Well though we might struggle with that one, we can guarantee that at St B’s we can turn your special occasion from being a great day to a magnificent day.
So if you are looking to get married in a unique church, with a unique vicar, then look no further. St Benedict’s church is a wonderful venue for one of the most important occasions in any couple’s lives and our vicar understands that this easily ranks as one of the most stressful times, particularly in the preparation stages! Though if you chose to get married at St B’s he will guide you through the whole process, regarding legalities, music, service wording and he even has a few techniques for dealing with over-powering Mother-in-laws! We want your day to be perfect and we can’t think of a better way to do that than having your day be blessed by God.

‘Dear Griff, thank you for being so supportive and guiding us to calm our nerves, we will forever be grateful for your kindness. Mr & Mrs …’

Funerals

If you are reading this then you are very likely to be feeling at a loss! Bereavement does that. Our vicar, who has a wealth of experience of guiding families, friends and most of all those nearest and dearest of a recently departed family member. St Benedict’s vicar (Rev Griff) prides himself, in his personal touch regarding walking, talking through the service for your loved one. Whether it be in one of the local crematoriums, County Crematorium or the Nene Valley Crematorium to a church service at St Benedict’s. He will listen, offer and advise, so that you are confident not just at the service but leading up to and after the service that you couldn’t have said farewell any better.
If you don’t believe him, then just read some of the comments from those who he has journeyed with at moving time
‘Dear Rev Griff … First of all, I’d like to say thank you for the lovely service on Friday for us at the Counties Crematorium in Northampton.  Even though it was a sad occasion it was such a great tribute to our beloved…’
'Dear Rev Griff, We write to you as we wish to thank you, for your kind way …your sympathetic and caring manner, brought poignancy and feeling to both occasions…again thank you for your kindness and assistance, which made an upsetting and emotional time that much more bearable’

Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
