Some of Our Bell Ringers

Our Bells

Bell Ringing

Hello, I’m Geoffrey, and I lead and co-ordinate our band of merry pilgrims - that’s me, with the bushy white beard!

Our bellringers meet regularly on Monday evenings at 7.30 for practise and on Sunday mornings to ring for our 10am service and other services. We have a variety of ringers, some of whom have been ringing for years and others who have been ringing for just a short while. Some ringers are part of our congregation but others come to support the ringing at St Benedict’s.

Why be a bell ringer?
  • It keeps you moving and using hand eye co-ordination
  • It keeps your mind active - "it's as much about maths as music"
  • Once you are a ringer, you are welcome to many practises, churches and events all over the country!

Learning to ring: Why not come along and see us, try it? You never know, you might find a new pastime!
