Tots and Toddlers' Club

Tots and Toddlers is a small friendly group who meet in term time on Tuesday mornings from 10am till 11.30 in the church hall. The group is open to babies and toddlers from birth until starting school. The children can be brought by any adult carer and we currently include mothers, fathers, grandparents and foster parents in the group. We do not ask for money, but donations are gladly received to help cover costs.
Carers are welcomed with a hot or cold drink to enjoy while the children play with a good range of small and large toys and activities. In the summer, we are fortunate in being able to use a fenced outside play area. At around 11am the children sit at tables in the church to eat a snack and have a drink, before returning to the hall to play until "Tidy up time". After that we all return to church for a very short Bible story, lots of action songs and nursery rhymes, followed by a closing prayer. The children can then blow out the candles, which signifies the end of the session. If you would like to come along to give us a try, you will be very welcome.

St Ben's Café

St. Benedict’s plays an important part in West Hunsbury. On the first Wednesday of each month we hold a community café in our church from 11:30am. On offer are unlimited mugs of tea and coffee, freshly-made sandwiches and a selection of home-made cakes (well, mostly)! Our café is open to all and many of our regulars are non-church members. We do not ask for money, but donations are gladly received to help cover costs. You can even discus any local issues with our parish councillors who are usually present. Why not come along and enjoy sharing some food and drink in our café with its friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Home Alone Club

Our Home Alone club meets for a meal once a month, usually the 3rd Sunday at 12.30pm in a local pub(s), for friendship and conversation with a bit of humour thrown in. It’s primary purpose was to get people who would normally eat at home on their own, out regularly with other church members in a social context. It is not an exclusive group, any one is welcomed. Currently we have 10-14 regular members, though there is no commitment required. A couple of times a year, we are welcomed by Griff who cooks and hosts our group in the vicarage.
